Oral Surgery

Gentle extractions, wisdom tooth removal, minor oral surgery and biopsy: carefully planned and carried out.

About oral surgery

Sometimes a tooth can't be saved, or a wisdom tooth is causing trouble. Oral surgery at Shree Hari Dental Care is about doing what's needed with as little discomfort as possible: careful planning, gentle technique and clear aftercare so you heal well and get back to normal quickly.

What's included

The procedures we offer within oral surgery, and what each one does for you.

  • Tooth Extraction

Gentle removal of teeth that are badly damaged, infected or overcrowded, with attention to comfort and healing.

  • Surgical Extraction

For broken, impacted or hard-to-reach teeth, a more precise surgical approach is used.

  • Wisdom Tooth Removal

Removal of wisdom teeth that are impacted, infected or damaging neighbouring teeth.

  • Minor Oral Surgical Procedures

Short in-clinic procedures under local anaesthesia for problems of the teeth, gums and surrounding tissues.

  • Biopsy

A small sample of suspicious tissue is taken for laboratory examination so a diagnosis can be made early.

Is this right for you?

Consider a visit if any of these sound familiar:

  • A tooth that can't be saved by other treatment
  • Wisdom tooth pain, swelling or repeated gum infection
  • A mouth ulcer, patch or lump that hasn't healed in about three weeks
  • Teeth that need removing before braces, dentures or implants

What to expect

Every treatment starts with a conversation and a clear plan. Here's how it usually goes.

  1. 1

    Assessment

Examination and X-rays show the position of the tooth and nearby structures.

  2. 2

    Comfortable anaesthesia

The area is fully numbed before we begin.

  3. 3

    Careful removal

The tooth or tissue is removed with controlled, gentle technique.

  4. 4

    Aftercare & review

You receive clear aftercare instructions and a follow-up visit to check healing.

Questions about oral surgery

Is wisdom tooth removal painful?
The procedure is done under local anaesthesia, so you shouldn't feel pain. Afterwards some swelling and soreness for a few days is normal and managed with prescribed medicines and cold compresses.
Do all wisdom teeth need to be removed?
No. Only those that are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed or damaging neighbouring teeth. X-rays help us decide; healthy, fully erupted wisdom teeth that you can clean don't need to go.
What should I do after a tooth extraction?
Bite on the gauze for as long as advised, avoid rinsing or spitting hard for the first 24 hours, eat cool, soft foods, avoid straws and smoking, and take medicines as prescribed. Call us if bleeding or pain worsens.
