Preventive Dentistry

Scaling, polishing, fluoride, sealants and oral cancer screening: stop problems before they start.

About preventive dentistry

The best dental treatment is the one you never need. Preventive dentistry keeps teeth and gums healthy through professional cleaning, enamel-strengthening treatments and early screening. It's the most affordable way to protect your smile and avoid bigger procedures later, and it's the heart of how we practise.

What's included

The procedures we offer within preventive dentistry, and what each one does for you.

  • Scaling & Polishing

Professional removal of plaque and tartar followed by polishing: for cleaner, smoother teeth and healthier gums.

  • Fluoride Application

A topical fluoride treatment that strengthens enamel and helps protect against decay.

  • Dental Sealants

A thin protective coating on the chewing surfaces of back teeth, sealing the deep grooves where cavities often begin.

  • Regular Dental Cleaning

Scheduled cleanings that keep gum disease and cavities in check: the foundation of long-term oral health.

  • Oral Cancer Screening

A quick, painless examination of the mouth, tongue, cheeks and throat to spot suspicious changes early.

Is this right for you?

Consider a visit if any of these sound familiar:

  • Everyone: children, adults and seniors
  • Visible tartar, stains or bleeding gums
  • People who use tobacco, paan masala or gutka, or who smoke (regular screening matters most here)
  • Parents who want to prevent cavities in their children

What to expect

Every treatment starts with a conversation and a clear plan. Here's how it usually goes.

  1. 1

    Assessment

We check your teeth, gums and soft tissues and identify your personal risk areas.

  2. 2

    Professional cleaning

Ultrasonic scaling removes plaque and tartar, followed by polishing.

  3. 3

    Protection

Fluoride or sealants are applied where they'll help most.

  4. 4

    Home-care coaching & recall

Simple, personalised tips, and a recall schedule that suits you.

Questions about preventive dentistry

Does scaling damage the teeth?
No. Scaling removes plaque and tartar from the tooth surface; it does not weaken enamel. Gaps that seem to appear afterwards were already there: they'd been filled by tartar and swollen gums.
How often should I get my teeth cleaned?
Typically every six months. If you've had gum disease, we may recommend more frequent cleanings to keep it under control.
What is oral cancer screening and who needs it?
It's a quick, painless examination of the mouth, tongue, cheeks, palate and throat for suspicious patches, ulcers or lumps. Adults, particularly anyone who uses tobacco, paan masala or alcohol, benefit from regular screening, because finding changes early greatly improves outcomes.
